Buck Henry’s return is always a welcome sign of a smart, tightly written show, and this episode was no exception. His deadpan delivery is the perfect anchor for the cast’s wilder antics. The highlight, and one of the most famous sketches in the show’s history, was “Samurai Stockbroker.” Watching John Belushi’s samurai character frantically trying to keep up with the market was pure comedic gold, and Henry was the perfect straight man. The show also featured a great “Baba Wawa” interview. Everything felt polished and professional. The musical performance by The Band, their last television appearance with the original lineup, was simply historic and added a layer of poignant gravity to an already fantastic episode.
