One of the original ‘Not Ready for Prime Time Players,’ Garrett Morris often played the straight man to the wilder antics of his castmates, but he created some of the show’s earliest iconic characters. He was the affable baseball player Chico Escuela, whose catchphrase was ‘Baseball been bery, bery good to me!’ He also anchored the ‘News for the Hard of Hearing’ segment. Morris was a talented singer and often showcased his Juilliard-trained voice in musical sketches. After SNL, he found sitcom success with roles on The Jamie Foxx Show and 2 Broke Girls.
