SNL Season 1, Episode 3: Rob Reiner

This episode felt like a friendly get-together with Rob Reiner and Penny Marshall. Their chemistry was obvious, but the show itself felt a little uneven. The sketches leaned heavily on their TV personas from All in the Family and Laverne & Shirley, which was fun for fans but didn’t push many boundaries. The “Not Ready for Prime Time Players” were solid, with Chevy Chase’s “Weekend Update” becoming a must-see segment. However, the overall energy seemed a bit lower than the first two episodes. It was a comfortable and enjoyable watch, but it didn’t have the “anything can happen” spark that makes the show truly special. It was a solid, if not spectacular, installment.
