Buck Henry returned for his second hosting gig of the season, once again bringing a steady, professional hand to the show. The episode felt confident and polished, with a number of now-classic sketches. The “Samurai General Practitioner” was another fantastic outing for John Belushi’s iconic character. Henry’s dry wit was a perfect match for the show’s sensibilities, and his chemistry with the cast was undeniable. The episode also featured the beloved “Fondue” sketch with Bill Murray. Gordon Lightfoot provided a mellow, folksy musical interlude. It was a dependably funny and well-written episode, a perfect example of the show firing on all cylinders as it neared the end of its first year.
