Margot Kidder, famous for playing Lois Lane in Superman, was a glamorous and fun-loving host. The episode is best known for the classic “Point/Counterpoint” where Jane Curtin delivers her infamous line, “Dan, you ignorant slut,” a shocking and hilarious moment. The show also featured a great parody of The Twilight Zone and a very funny sketch with Bill Murray as a ridiculously intense acting coach. Kidder’s slightly spacey energy was a good fit for the show’s silliness. The Chieftains were the musical guest, and their beautiful, traditional Irish folk music was a wonderful and unexpected change of pace, adding a touch of class and culture to a very funny episode.
