The 13th Episode of Season 4 of Saturday Night Live aired on February 24, 1979. The host was Kate Jackson, and the musical guest was Delbert McClinton.
Kate Jackson, one of the stars of Charlie’s Angels, was a capable and appealing host. She had a good sense of humor about her TV fame, which the show used in a very funny parody of her hit series, featuring John Belushi as Farrah Fawcett. The episode was solid and professional, with a number of good sketches, including another outing for Bill Murray’s smarmy lounge singer. It was a fun, pop-culture-heavy episode that delivered consistent laughs without necessarily breaking new ground. Delbert McClinton was the musical guest, and he brought a fantastic, gritty, roadhouse-blues energy to the stage that was a real highlight. A thoroughly enjoyable and well-executed show.
