Former Saturday Night Live cast member Michaela Watkins is part of an ensemble cast for “The Probability of Miracles,” a series that will air on Amazon Prime Video.
Watkins, Melissa Collazo, Henry Eikenberry, Ginnifer Goodwin, Georgia Acken, and Ema Inês form the core cast for the program, which is adapted from a popular novel by Wendy Wunder.
The plot follows Collaza’s character, “an acerbic teenager dying of cancer who, after receiving a terminal diagnosis, moves with her mom and younger sister to the town of Promise, where miracles are said to happen,” according to Deadline. Watkins plays a librarian in the town of Promise.
Watkins was a cast member on SNL for Season 34, but was not asked back the following season. Her short tenure was surprising considering Watkins’ ability at celebrity impressions, including uncanny appearances as Barbara Walters on sketches for the show “The View.”
Since her departure from Saturday Night Live, Watkins has worked almost constantly, thanks to her comedic acting talents. She was a cast member in the series “Casual,” “Trophy Wife,” and “The Unicorn.” She is also noted for guest roles on “The New Adventures of Old Christine” starring Julia Louis-Dreyfus, and “New Girl” starring Zooey Deschanel.
“The Probability of Miracles” was shot in the summer of 2026 and will appear on Prime Video either late in 2026 or early 2027.
