Saturday Night Live cast member Veronika Slowikowska is a pop star. Even if you didn’t know it.
This month, Slowikowska revealed that she is the artist behind “Me As a Girl,” a project that’s been releasing pop music since 2025. A song, “I Don’t Know Why I Said That,” has been gaining traction as a popular tune online. Slowikowska, who was a featured player on SNL for Season 51, shared the song on her social media accounts late in August, revealing her identity as the performer behind the music.
Slowikowska’s musical endeavors predate her time on SNL. Me As a Girl’s first single, titled “When You Had Me You Ran Wway,” was released in November of 2025. Which means the production of the song must have come well before Slowikowska made her debut on SNL in September. She released a four-song EP, called “It’s All Possible” in March of 2026, though it was not publicized that the comedian/actress was behind the project.
Slowikowska is one of the hardest working newcomers that SNL has seen in a while. She will star in a feature film titled Stephanie, Bride to Be, which does not yet have a release date. She is also a cast member on the Shane Gillis-led Tires, which streams on Netflix.
