Finn Wolfhard, one of the stars of Stranger Things, will host Saturday Night Live on January 17, 2026 when the program returns from holiday break.

The musical guest joining Wolfhard in SNL’s Studio 8H will be A$AP Rocky. Both are making their first appearances as headliners for the show.

Wolfhard is part of the ensemble on Stranger Things, which is wrapping its much-anticipated final season on Netflix on Jan 1.

The connection between Wolfhard and SNL runs deep: last year he appeared as an NBC page in Saturday Night, a film that portrayed the first-ever show in 1975.

The Jan. 17 show will be the 998th episode of the series. The program, which has been nominated for dozens of Emmy Awards, is approaching Episode 1000, which should air Jan. 31.

Wolfhard recently made an appearance on the Fly on a Wall podcast, which is hosted by former SNL cast members Dana Carvey and David Spade.

Stranger Things kicked off Season 5 with three episodes on Nov. 26, and dropped three more on Christmas day. The finale will be available on Netflix on Jan. 1. The show became a smash success way back in 2016, with an ensemble cast of young actors and a heavy reliance on 1980s nostalgia.

Wolfhard joins several members of the Stranger Things cast to host SNL, including David Harbour, Winona Ryder, Linda Hamilton, Paul Reiser, and Matthew Modine.

SNL ended 2025 on a high note, with a well-regarded episode hosted by Ariana Grande. SNL Rankings graded the episode as a B, making it one of the better shows of Season 51.
