Saturday Night Live has announced a trio of high-profile hosts for its upcoming November slate: Miles Teller, Nikki Glaser, and Glen Powell. The news arrives with a palpable sense of anticipation as the legendary sketch show looks to course-correct what has been, by many accounts, a sluggish start to its 51st season.

Teller kicks off the November run on the 1st, followed by Glaser’s debut on the 8th, and Powell rounding out the month on the 15th. For a show struggling to find its footing, this infusion of fresh and bankable talent couldn’t come sooner.

A Sluggish Start to Season 51

The pressure is high on these hosts, as the first three episodes of Season 51 have widely been considered below par. Critics and long-time fans have lamented a dip in quality, with the premiere and subsequent episodes failing to deliver the comedic punch expected of the show. At times, the material has been deemed downright terrible. With cast departures and a challenge to integrate new featured players, the show has yet to hit its stride. This November line-up is being viewed as an emergency measure to inject much-needed vitality into the venerable program.

Miles Teller: The Dynamic Return

Miles Teller, who is set to return to Studio 8H on November 1st, is riding a career wave fueled by critical acclaim and blockbuster success. Teller’s breakout moment came with the Oscar-nominated film Whiplash (2014), where his intense performance as an ambitious jazz drummer earned him widespread recognition. He later solidified his action-star status as Lieutenant Bradley “Rooster” Bradshaw in the global phenomenon Top Gun: Maverick (2022). With credits also including The Spectacular Now and the Divergent series, Teller’s dynamic range as an actor offers an exciting opportunity for diverse sketch comedy roles.

Nikki Glaser: November 8 SNL Host

Comedian Nikki Glaser will make her much-anticipated SNL hosting debut on November 8th. Known for her brutally honest, self-deprecating, and often shocking stand-up, Glaser has emerged as one of comedy’s sharpest voices. Her highlights include numerous stand-up specials like Nikki Glaser: Bangin’ and Nikki Glaser: Good Clean Filth. She also famously hosted the reality dating show FBOY Island and has proven her mettle as one of the best roasters in the business, notably at the viral The Roast of Tom Brady. Her experience as the first solo female host of the Golden Globe Awards in 2025 further highlights her skill in live, unscripted comedy.

Glen Powell: November 15

Rounding out the announced hosts is Glen Powell, making his hosting debut on November 15th. Powell, also a Top Gun: Maverick star (as the charismatic Lieutenant Jake “Hangman” Seresin), has quickly become one of Hollywood’s leading men. His career is characterized by roles in hits like the comedy Everybody Wants Some!! and the romantic comedy Anyone but You, which showcased his considerable charm and comedic timing. His co-starring, co-writing, and producing role in the acclaimed 2023 action-comedy Hit Man demonstrates his growing creative influence behind the camera as well.

This new lineup suggests SNL is pulling out all the stops to reverse its early-season fortunes. With two charismatic actors and one of the nation’s funniest stand-up comics on deck, November might finally be the month the long-running comedy show finds its much-needed spark.
