This spring was supposed to feature a back-to-his-roots movie from director Jonah Hill. The film, titled “Cut Off,” features former Saturday Night Live cast member Kristen Wiig, among others.
But, Warner Bros. has indefinitely delayed the release date of Cut Off because the comedy is apparently not quite ready for the big screen.
In April, Hill appeared as a guest on a live taping of the Smartless podcast with hosts Will Arnett, Jason Bateman, and Sean Hayes. The Academy Award nominated actor has also directed a handful of films, and been turning his attention to movie making in recent years as opposed to being in front of the camera. Hill does however appear in Cut Off. Nathan Lane and Bette Midler were also part of the ensemble cast.
According to Hill, Cut Off is a mix of Step Brothers, Clueless, and Trading Places. But while those comedies ended up being released by major studios, this new venture by Hill is in limbo.
Hill hosted Saturday Night Live five times between 2008 and 2018. In Season 44 he joined the exclusive Five-Timers Club. His most famous character on the show may be Adam Grossman, a mouthy six-year old who hurls insults.
