Former Saturday Night Live great Will Ferrell, consistently rated among the best cast members in SNL history, will star in a series to be streamed by Netflix.

Several other SNL alumni will reportedly also appear in the unnamed show, which will center on the world of professional golf. Molly Shannon and Chris Parnell are also said to have roles on the show, according to Variety.

Ferrell will play a professional golfer who has a rivalry with a golfer played by Luke Wilson. In previous roles in films, Ferrell has played a professional auto racer (in Talladega Nights: The Ballad of Ricky Bobby) and a pro basketball player in Semi-Pro.

According to IMDB, other cast members for the as-yet-to-be-named Netflix show include Fortume Feimster, David Hornsby, Katelyn Tarver, and Jimmy Tatro.

Ferrell and Wilson previously appeared together in Old School, Anchorman, Blades of Glory, and other projects.

Wilson hosted the sixth episode of Season 30 of Saturday Night Live, on November 20, 2004.

Both Parnell and Shannon were cast members on SNL during the years that Ferrell was on the popular NBC late night variety show.

Ferrell was a cast member on SNL for seven seasons from 1995 to 2002, or Seasons 21 to 27. He was an almost immediate favorite of audiences, and is credited with lifting the show up following a few struggling seasons in the mid-1990s.

While Ferrell has starred in many successful films, including Anchorman, Elf, Talladega Nights, Step Brothers, and more, he has never been a star on a TV or streaming series. He has made guest appearances on TV shows and streaming shows, such as The Office and The Last Man on Earth, created by former SNL cast member Will Forte.
