The first performer announcements have been released for Season 51. International singing star Bad Bunny will host the season premier on October 4, with musical guest Doja Cat.

On October 11, former cast member Amy Poehler returns for her second standalone hosting gig. And the following week on October 18, singer Sabrina Carpenter will pull double duty as host and musical guest for SNL.

Bad Bunny is hosting for the second time, following his previous stint in Season 49. He won’t be the musical guest this time. Doja Cat is making her first appearance on the show as musical guest. She has been dubbed the “Queen of Pop Rap” by her fans.

Poehler has hosted twice previously, once in tandem with former cast member and friend Tina Fey in Season 41. Poehler was on SNL for eight seasons from Season 27 to Season 34 (2001-2008). She was one of the most talented sketch performers the show has ever seen.

Role Model is making his first appearance as musical guest in the Poehler episode on October 11, which is coincidentally the 50th anniversary of the first show ever aired, on Oct. 11, 1975.

The third and final episode of October will be helmed by Carpenter, hosting for the first time. The popular vocalist has appeared as musical guest once before. She also made a notable appearance in a duet with Paul Simon during the 50th SNL anniversary show earlier in 2025.

SNL is welcoming five new featured cast members for Season 51. Two longtime cast members have left: Heidi Gardner and Ego Nwodim.
