Former Saturday Night Live cast member Amy Poehler will star in an upcoming series titled Dig that will air on Peacock 1n 2026. Poehler will star with Hugh Laurie in a project co-created by Michael Schur.
Poehler is listed as a co-creator of Dig, with Schur, who created, produced, and wrote The Good Place, which was nominated for 14 Emmy Awards and six Hugo Awards, and is considered one of the best and most influential series of the 21st century.
The plot of this upcoming series will feature Poehler and Laurie as archeologists who find themselves embroiled in an international conspiracy after they uncover something troubling in their work.
Poehler spent eight seasons on SNL, and later starred in her own series, Parks and Recreation, which was co-created by Schur. She has hosted Saturday Night Live three times, most recently in Episode 2 of Season 51.
Laurie hosted SNL once, on October 28, 2006, when Poehler was part of the cast in Season 32. That episode was poor (SNL Rankings grades it as a D+) in a season that came in with a C+ grade overall.
Laurie is best known for his eight seasons as the eponymous character in House, for which he was nominated six times for an Emmy Award as Outstanding Lead Actor in a Drama Series.
