It’s been a difficult few years for Billy Crystal. But the former Saturday Night Live cast member hasn’t allowed that to keep him from working hard.
Crystal will debut a one-man show titled “860” on Broadway at the Imperial Theatre on Thursday, October 1.
The show comes after Crystal and his wife lost their Pacific Palisades home in the 2025 California wildfires. It also comes less than a year after Crystal’s close friend Rob Reiner was murdered in his own home, allegedly by a family member.
This is not the first one-man show for Crystal, who starred as an SNL cast member for one season in 1984-85. Previously, Crystal wrote, produced and starred in “700 Sundays”, an homage to his relationship to his father. Crystal was nominated for a Tony Award for that show and his performance.
“860” serves as the street address of Crystal’s family home where he and his wife spent close to 50 years and raised their family in southern California. Like hundreds of families who lost their homes in the fires in 2025, Crystal was devastated by the incident that seemed to snuff out so many memories. The audience for 860 will get a glimpse into what his home and family meant to Crystal.
Crystal is one of the most decorated performers to ever have been a cast member of SNL. He has won six Primetime Emmy Awards, and a Tony Award, for “700 Sundays.” He’s also been nominated for three Grammy Awards and three Golden Globe Awards. He was honored with the Mark Twain Prize for American Humor in 2007, the Critics’ Choice Lifetime Achievement Award in 2022, and the Kennedy Center Honors a year later.
