A romance sparked in Studio 8H between a pair of Saturday Night Live cast members has led to an actor who will be seen in the next season of The White Lotus on HBO.
Charlie Hall, the 29-year old son of Brad Hall and Julia Louis-Dreyfus, who met and fell in love as cast members on SNL in the early 1980s, is filming The White Lotus in France this summer. The former SNL stars are proud parents indeed.
The young actor was most recently seen in Apple TV’s Maximum Pleasure Guaranteed along with Tatiana Maslany. He also previously appeared in a handful of episodes of Veep, his mother’s award-winning HBO series. Hall also had a role in Bel-Air, a streaming series on Peacock.
Louis-Dreyfus is one of the most successful and richest former SNL cast members. She has been nominated for more than two dozen Emmy Awards, winning 11 Primetime Emmy Awards. She’s also received nine Screen Actor Guild Awards, and a Golden Globe Award. She is the only actress to receive a Primetime Emmy for three different roles: on Veep, The New Adventures of Old Christine, and Seinfeld. In 2018 she received the prestigious Mark Twain Prize for American Humor.
Brad Hall is an actor and writer who spent two years on SNL, in Seasons 8 and 9. Louis-Dreyfus, who was at that time the youngest female to ever become a cast member on the late night program, was also in the cast. The two married in 1987.
The White Lotus has received much acclaim over its three seasons on HBO. Jennifer Coolidge, who was nearly cast on Saturday Night Live in the 1990s, was part of the ensemble in its first two seasons. Each season centers on soties taking place at a new White Lotus resort hotel somewhere in the world, with sex, family issues, intrigue and crime usually woven in. The fourth season, which will include Charlie Hall, is being filmed in France. The White Lotus has won 16 Primetime Emmy Awards.
